Wine, Dine and Walk at Coonara Springs Restaurant...
The oldest restaurant in the Dandenong Ranges, Coonara Springs shares a story through time. First established in 1893 and opened as a Tea Rooms in the 1920's, Coonara Springs was closed for three years to undergo an extensive restoration program to restore the property to its former glory. Re-opened in 2016, under new ownership, Coonara Springs combines a story of food and heritage, elegance, comfort and intimacy in a beautiful 7 acre landscaped setting.
The property offers an intimate setting of only 12 tables on the restaurant floor, a private dining room (seating 26), two lounge rooms, five open fireplaces and 7 acres of gardens to walk around including a substantial kitchen garden.
Our menu is seasonal contemporary Australian Country Cuisine, complimented with fresh produce from our kitchen gardens, and smaller producers from the Yarra Valley and country Victoria. Our price fixe for a two or three course menu is inclusive of home made breads, butter, vegetable sides, tea and coffee. House specialities include slow cooked lamb from the AGA, seasonal vegetarian dishes from the garden, freshly made bread and boutique wine producers from the Yarra Valley. Adrian Upward, our accomplished chef (formerly Fanny's & Cottage Point), has designed a menu that combines seasons with flavours textures and colours, presented in a contemporary fashion with hints from a bye-gone era.
The ideal destination for a celebration, a special dining experience or intimate affair, our attention to detail and level of hospitality ensures a memorable occasion. We look forward to welcoming you to Coonara Springs, whatever your occasion.
