At any time of the year there are colourful flowers and much to see and enjoy at Karwarra ANBG. Numerous garden beds give boundless inspiration for those looking to create their own garden using Australian plants, whether their garden is large or small. There is also an area of undisturbed native bushland where native orchids and wildflowers can be seen in spring and early summer. The garden provides habitat for local wildlife including many different types of birds, butterflies, insects and frogs. Echidnas, wombats, native bush rats, sugar gliders and other possums also call Karwarra ANBG home.
Karwarra ANBG is part of the refreshingly peaceful Kalorama Memorial Reserve. This is a lovely place to bring the family or friends. The reserve is well known for its quirky saddle-shaped oval. There is a children's playground and a multipurpose area provide space for the young and young at heart. Electric BBQ facilities, tables and shelter are also available. There are cafes close by and tea, coffee and light meals available at the Post Office, within walking distance.
Gardening clubs, community groups. art, photographic and other creative groups are all welcome to spend time in the garden. Karwarra ANBG has a large well equipped meeting room with kitchen, suitable for community groups, classes and corporate training is also available. (Not suitable for parties).

Gallery
The Gallery at Karwarra displays Australian botanical and wildlife art. The space is for hire to artists whose work depicts Australian fauna and flora or Australian natural history.
Nursery
Karwarra has a well stocked plant nursery selling a wide range of Australian plants in small tubes and 140mm pots. The staff can assist with the selection of plants suitable to your particular needs.
